Applications are invited form eligible candidates of SC/ST for Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Scheme (RGNFS). This noble initiative is taken by UGC for the candidates of SC/ST, which represents the marginal society and laying bottom part of sequence but have desire to do something special in the field of Higher Education.
The motive behind this Fellowship is providing monetary support of the candidates of SC/ST to pursue their research work in their respective field.
Seats: -There are 2000 seats allotted for the candidates of SC and about 667 seats for ST. Out of this 3% seats is purposed for the Physically Handicap candidates of SC/ST.
Eligibility norms which are set by UGC for getting fellow ship: –
Candidates must have done PG in respective discipline from recognized University and enrolled into any recognized university for M.Phil or Ph.D in respective discipline.
Tenure: – The period of this fellowship is initially for 2 yrs and it may be increased after the evaluating the research work for another 3 yrs of time.
Selection Methodology: – Candidates would be selected for fellowship on accordance of their merit. In this regard decision taken by commission will be final.
How to apply: – Candidates may apply in prescribed format of application form and send it before 20th March 2011 to the address of “Shri Joginder singh, Deputy Secretary (S.A-III), University Grant Commission, Bahadur Shah Jafar Marg, New Delhi-110002”.
Last date of submission the application form: – 20.03.2011
Note: – It should be noted that candidates must be forwarded their application form from either Principal or Director of University
