About Staff Selection Commission Eastern Region (SSER):

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) was founded in year 1977. This commission established under resolution number 46 / 1 / (S) / 74 – – Estt/ (B) dated 4th November 1975. The eastern regional office of the Staff Selections commission is located in Kolkata. The Jurisdiction of SSCER over west Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Sikkim and the Andaman. The Commission mainly working for organised examinations for various specialized posts as and when requisitions are received from the central Government Departments. By this commission posts are Specialized, Recruitment is through interview, through the commission reserves the right for screening. The all process of recruitment will be conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The main responsibility of the staff selection commission is to make recruitment to Group C (Non-Technical) and Group B (Non-Gazetted technical and Non technical) post in departments of Government of India. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is conducting Departmental Examination for Promotion from Group D to LDC Grade, Promotion from LDC to UDC Grade and Promotion from stenographers Grade D to Stenographers Grade C besides holding periodical Test5s in English and Hindi. The SSC organised by a Chairman with 2 Members and a Secretary-Cum-Controller of Examination. Staff Selection Commission has Nine Regional / Sub-Regional offices in different parts of the country.
