Shimla is the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. It is a famous hill station in the world. It is also the biggest hill station in all over the world. The Ridge:-

Jakhoo Temple: –

Jakhoo is at the top height in Shimla. This temple belongs to Lord Hanuman. It is said that Lord Hanuman rested here, when he went to Himalayan mountains. Here is a beautiful statue of Lord Hanuman. From here Shimla is looked very beautiful and charming. Here is a way from the ridge to go to the temple. The way starts from the Christ church.One can travel the distance in approximately one hour on foot.

It is one of the oldest Churches of northern India. It has its own religious as well as historical value. It is situated at the edge of the ridge. It is the landmark of the Shimla..

Indian Institute of advanced studies:-

This is a prestigious institute housed in viceregel lodge. This is one of the finest British colonial buildings. This was built in 1888. In summer season British Government used to established their capital here every year till 1940.

The Mall: –
This is prominent shopping area of Shimla. Here every types of articles, less expensive hotels and restaurants are available. An old theater is here. This area is cultural hub of Shimla. No Vehicle is allowed in this mall, ridge and Lakkar Bazar. In Lakkar Bazar, there are articles made up of woods are sold.

Places around Shimla: –


It is situated at the distance of 13 kms from Shimla. Here is a tiny resort on hill. Chail is spread over three hills near Shimla. These are Rajgarh hill, Pandava hill and Tibba hill. There is a palace of old residency is situated over Rajgarh hills. Pandava hill is known for snow view and Siddh Tibba hill is famous for Baba Siddhnath temple.

A beautiful palace was built by Maharaja Bhupinder singh of Patiala in 1891. This is situated between thick devdar tree forests and now converted into premium heritage hotel.

Cricket ground: –

This is a cricket and polo ground on maximum height in the world. This is situated at the elevation of 2444 meters. Tourists, who came to Shimla, come here for enjoying sceneries and sports.
