NIT MCA Common Entrance Test 2011
NIMCET is a national level common entrance test, which is conducted by NIT for admission in the MCA course. National Institute of Technology (NIT) is premier technical institute, which is funded by Govt. of India. The curriculum of the course is designed by NIT for considering the need of different IT firms in India and abroad.
The admission in first year MCA offered by Various NITs, as NIT Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, KuruKshetra, Raipur, surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal.
The admission will be held on the basis of rank the candidate obtained in the Common entrance test (NIMCET) 2011. NIMCET 2011 examination is scheduled on 15th of May 2011. The more information related in this regard is given below.
Indian Nationals securing 60% marks or equivalent and 55% for SC/ST of the examination of 12th with Mathematics along with 3 years Bachelor Degree form recognized university in the following stream- Mathematics, Statistics, Business Mathematics, discrete Mathematics, Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science, Business Statistics, computational Mathematics, Elementary Mathematics, Elementary Statistics.
Note: – Candidates those who have done Bridge Course in Mathematics are also eligible to apply.
Candidates completed degree from Open University is also eligible to apply if their course is approved by UGC/AICTE/DEC.
The candidates who are appearing for qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET2011. But those candidates should have to furnish the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET2011 preferably at the time of counseling.
The percentage of marks will be calculated on the basis of method used by respective board/university.
Examination Fee: – DD of `1500/- for UR/OBC candidates and `750/- for SC/ST candidates. The Demand Draft will be drawn in favor of NIMCET2011 and payable at Bhopal. On the back side of DD candidates are required to write their name and address.
Mode of Examination:-
NIMCET2011 examination will be of two hours and questions paper will consists 120 multiple questions. The multiple choices questions will be asked from Mathematics, Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and General English.

Each correctly questions will carry 04 marks and each wrong question will lead to 01 negative mark. The candidates have to mark the responses in the OMR answer sheets at the time of examination. In this concern candidates have to bring their own HB Pencil, Eraser, Ball Pen (Black/Blue). Calculators, Mobile Phone, or any other electronic gadget are not allowed in the examination hall.

Admission Methodology: – NIMCET2011 application form is applicable for both entrance examination and admission in MCA at all the eleven participating NITs offering MCA programme. Candidates are not required to apply separately to each NITs for admission. The admission will be based on NIMCET2011 rank as well as their choice as opted during the counseling.
