Kullu is a famous hill station situated in Himachal Pradesh in India. This town is located on the bank of river Beas. This town is situated at the height of about 1200 meter. Kullu is known for its natural mesmerizing beauty. Kullu lies in valley called Kullu valley. It is also known as ‘valley of Gods’. river. Kullu is one of the most beautiful hill stations in India.

COMMUNICATION:

1. To reach Kullu the nearest airport is Bhuntar. It is at the distance of 1o kms from Kullu.

2. Nearby railway stations of Kullu are Kalka, Chandigarh and Pathankot. Jogindernagar railway head is about 35 kms from Kullu. Many taxies and auto are available for Kullu from here.

3. By roads it is well connected with Chandigarh, Shimla and New Delhi.



PLACES WORTH VISITING: –

1. Raghunathji Temple:-



This temple belongs to Raghunathji (the God of the valley). Here is statue of Raghunathji. This is the most famous temple in Kullu. It is said that the statute of the deity was fetched from Ayodhya. This temple was built up in 1657.







2. Kullu Dussehra:-

Dussehra is a famous festival of Kullu. This is celebrated in the month of September or October. This is celebrated in very enthusiastic way in Dhalpur maidan, which is about one km. away from Raghunathji Temple. On this day a big procession is held from Raghunath Temple to Dhalpur maidan. The festival is celebrated for ten days and participating in this is a very big enjoy.

A colorful procession has been held from the Raghunath temple to the maidan.

3. Bijli Mahadev Temple:-

This is a beautiful temple made up of stone rocks. As its name this is dedicated to Lord Shiva. A tall flagstaff is reputed, for attract lightning.

4. Bajaura Temple:-

This is a beautiful pyramid shaped temple. The temple is decorated with image of Goddess Durga as Mahishasurmardini, Vishnu and Ganesha.

Places near Kullu:-

Naggar:-

This is a beautiful site near Kullu. This is old capital of Kullu, which was an empire in old times. There was an old castle, which is now converted into a hotel. There are three beautiful temples belongs to Lord Vishnu, Tripura Sundari and Lord Krishna.

This place is about 27 km away from Kullu. This place is also famous for hot sulphur springs.

Manikaran:-

This is a religious place 45 kms away from Kullu. It is said that Goddess Parvati came here to take bath.

Temples dedicated to Lord Ramchandra and Shiva are situated here. Here is also a Gurudwara.

This place is also famous for hot springs. It is said that water of springs are so hot that one can cook food with this.
