Kerala Judicial Service Examination 2012, Selection Process, Exam Pattern & Exam Syllabus

The High Court of Kerala is going to hold Judicial Service Examination 2012 for the recruitment to 60 vacant of post Munsiff-Magistrate in the pay scale of Rs.27700 to 44770 on direct recruitment basis. The Kerala Judicial Service Examination will be in two stages; Preliminary Test of 200 Marks which will be held on 13th May, 2012 & Main Examination of 400 Marks.

Selection Process: Selection for the post of Munsiff-Magistrate in Kerala Judicial Service will be done on the basis performance in Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Viva Voce.

Preliminary Examination: The Test will be of 200 Marks consisting of 100 Multiple Choice Questions. It carries negative marking and one mark for each wrong answer will be deducted. The test will be of Two Hours.

Exam Syllabus (Preliminary Test):

Part-A:

  1. Code of Civil Procedure
  2. Indian Contract Act
  3. Negotiable Instruments Act
  4. Transfer of Property Act
  5. Specific Relief Act
  6. KeralaBuildingAct

Part-B:

  1. Code of Criminal Procedure
  2. Indian Penal Code
  3. Indian Evidence Act

Part-C:

  1. Constitution ofIndia
  2. Legal G.K Reasoning & Mental Ability

 

Main Examination: The Test comprised of Four Papers carrying total 400 Marks, each paper carries 100 Marks. The Test will be of 3 Hours duration. Cut off Mark for General Candidates will be 40% for each paper and 45% for all Papers. For those candidates who belong to SC / ST Category, Cut Off mark will be 40% for all the paper and 35% for Each Papers.

Viva Voce: Only those candidates who qualify in above test will be called for Viva Voce which will carry 50 Marks. To qualify this test candidate will have to obtained at least 40% Marks in case of General Candidates and 35% Marks in case of SC / ST Candidates. The Marks obtained in Viva Voce will be added to obtained Marks in Main Examination as Total Secured Marks.
