Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination

JCECE

JCECE is an initialism of Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination. It is a qualifying examination for the admission to the Degree Level of Engineering, Medical and Agriculture courses. The admission is done by various Government and private colleges of Jharkhand. The examination is conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board. The competition is getting stronger and students are trying their best to get through the examination. The examination is conducted annually generally in the month of May – June.

Q. Courses Offered after clearing JCECE?

  1. Bachelor of Engineering – BE
  2. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery – MBBS
  3. Bachelor of Dental Surgery – BDS
  4. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and in Forestry – B. Sc. Agri & B. Sc Forestry
  5. Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry – B. VSc & AH

Who can apply?

Bachelor of Engineering (BE)

  1. Candidates who have cleared 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English are eligible
  2. Candidates must have obtained at least 50% of marks in 10+2 and 45% marks for reserved category candidates.
  3. Final year students are also eligible
  4. There is no age bar for candidates to apply
  5. Physical fitness test will also be conducted

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)

  1. Candidates who have passed10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually are eligible
  2. Candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in the above mentioned subjects taken together.
  3. For candidates belonging to reserved categories the minimum marks should be 40%
  4. Candidates’ minimum age should be 17 years.
  5. Candidates will be put under physical fitness test and only fit candidates will be eligible for admission

Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and in Forestry

  1. Candidates must have cleared 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology
  2. Candidates’ minimum age should be 17 years.
  3. Final year students can also apply
  4. Physical Fitness test will be conducted

Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry

  1. Candidates are required to pass 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  2. Candidates are required to attain a minimum age of 17 years.
  3. Final year students are also eligible
  4. Candidates have to undergo physical fitness test and fit candidates are only eligible

What is the pattern of the exam?

JCECE consists of preliminary exam and final exam. Candidates who will qualify the preliminary exam will be eligible for the final exam.

Preliminary Exam

  1. Question paper will consist of multiple choice questions.
  2. Total time duration of the examination is 2 hours 30 minutes
  3. The question paper will carry 200 questions
  4. The question paper is divided into 4 sections – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology
  5. There is a penalty for wrong answer.

Final Test

  1. Final test will be conducted on a different date.
  2. The test will include questions based on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  3. Medical students have to appear for an examination that will have questions based on Physics, Chemistry and Biology
  4. The question paper will have objective type questions
  5. There is also a penalty for every wrong answer.

What are the Preparation Tips for JCECE?

  1. Make a proper study plan and abide by it till the end
  2. The plan should include all the concerned subjects related to the examination
  3. Start practicing with the easier sums and gradually increase the level of difficulty
  4. Try to do give time to all subjects every day
  5. Recollect the last days chapters without seeing the study materials
  6. Try to work more on the weak areas
  7. Be active and take advice from seniors and teachers
  8. Solve last years’ question paper
  9. Appear for mock tests
  10. Learn how to manage time in the examination.
  11. Practice the last years’ paper in a given amount of time
  12. Increase the study time as the exam approaches
  13. The main mantra is practice and revision
  14. Do not go for new chapters or new notes at the peak of the examination
  15. Do not get confused with the selection of study materials
  16. Study in group if you are comfortable and if you can grasp quickly
  17. Work more on regular mistakes
  18. Evaluate the mock test results and try to improve your score and work more on weaker points
