Joint Entrance Examination 2012 (JEE – 2012) for taking admission at IITs
Indian Institutes of Technology are popularly known as IITs, National level institutions for providing education of Indian and students form abroad in the field of Science and Technology, were established through Act of Parliament for Fostering excellence in education. Now India has total fifteen IITs which are located at Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Patna and Roorkee. These all Institutions provide Bachelor’s degree courses in a number of engineering, technological and scientific disciplines. Some of these also provides Integrated Post Graduate Courses ( M.Sc. and M.Tech) in the discipline of Pure and applied Sciences. IITs makes admission of Indian Nationals and Foreign Nationals on the basis of marks obtained in Joint Entrance Examination IIT-JEE ( known as JEE). Like other years IIT has notified for IIT-JEE 2012. According to this notification this year this Entrance Examination will be held on 08 April 2011. Details can be known by reading below:

Starting date of online submission of application – October 31, 2011
Closing Date of online submission of application – December 10, 2011
Starting Date of Offline OMR Application Forms sale at Bank Branches – November 11, 2011
Close Date of Offline OMR Application Forms sale – December 5, 2011
Closing Date of Offline submission of application – December 15, 2011
Examination Date of JEE 2012 – April 8, 2012
Joint Entrance Examination – 2012 is to be conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology on 8 April 2012 . So in this regard IITs invite online applications from Indian and Foreign Nationals for take a part in Joint Entrance Examination 2012 for Admission at Bachelor level Courses in Various discipline like Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, etc in any one institution. Those students who have qualified the Intermediate examination having 60% marks in aggregate with the subject of Mathematics, Physic and, Chemistry or they are to qualify Intermediate examination having same subjects can apply for appearing in entrance examination online between 31 October 2011 and 10 December 2011 and offline between 11 November and 5 December 2011 . Joint Entrance Examination 2012 ( JEE 2012) Details are follow: –
Date of Birth – Students who come under the category of UR / OBC whose date of birth must be on or before after 1, 1987 and whose date of birth is before October 1, 1987 will not be considered to apply for Entrance Test. Candidates who come under the category of SC, ST and PD whose date of birth must be on or after October 1, 1982 are eligible to appear in IIT JEE 2012. Date of birth of candidates as in Certificate of Matriculation/ First board / Pre-University will be accepted
Educational Qualification – Applicant, Qualified or appearing in Final Examination of 10+2 Conducted ( Conducting) by Recognized board, can apply online for appearing in Entrance Examination 2012.
Qualifying marks – Applicants who belong to UR / OBC will have to secure at least 60% marks in aggregate to appear in Joint Entrance Examination 2012 (JEE 2012) and who belongs to SC, ST and PD will have to obtained 55% marks to appear.
Note – Applicants who has already attempted two times for JEE will not be considered eligible for apply.
Reservation of seats – Reservation of seats are as per Government Rule that is given below –
15% of total available seats are reserved for those applicants who belong to SC category and 7.5% of total available seats are reserved for the applicants who belong to ST. and 27% of Total are reserved for OBC candidates. To use the benefit of reservation, applicants will have to produce a caste certificate to which they belong. Remaining are unreserved.
Syllabus – Questions in examination will be from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Besides it applicants will have to give also the test of Aptitude.
Examination Centre – According to choice of applicants, examination centre for Entrance Examination will be given which will in any zonal examination centre of IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee.
How to apply – Applicants can apply for JEE 2012 by Online or Offline Mode
Online Mode –
i. Applicants can apply online using web address http://www.iitg.ac.in/jee/online.htm from 31st October 2011 to 10 December 2011
ii. Application must fill only in online prescribed format with the requisite information followed by click on submit button to submit the application online.
iii. After successful submission of application form take a print out of application form generated by system for the further use.
Offline Mode –
i. Applications form will be available at some selected Bank from where applicants can bring applications form on cash payment of Rs. 1800 (UR and OBC) , Rs 1000 ( SC/ST/PD) and Rs. 200/- ( Female candidates).
ii. Applicants should fill up the applications only in prescribed format and should past a recent colour passport size photograph.
iii. Applications Complete in all respects should be sent by speed post between 11 November 2011 and 05 December 2011 at prescribed address in prospects.
