but i got a letter again Dated 14-07-2011. regarding medical. any clue on this.

No idea about the second letter you got. I haven't got the second letter, plus police verification hasn't been done yet in my case.

What was the process for Police Verification like? Was it similar to the procedure followed while getting passports made? i.e., a couple of police men visit your house and then you have to call two neighbors who will sign some documents indicating they vouch for you?

Yes my medical examination and police verification done and one CBI officer from local office came and collected it from hospital on 12th july and he was supposed to send it to the concern department.

regarding character verification .it has been already done two times for me. one by a local policeman in the same way as of passport.
second time office came from regional office of CBI have done a real inquiry.

I have done my medical my hospital and send report by post myself .is this ok ?

Does anybody know when they are sending the offer letter. i already have reigned to my current employer and serving the notice period.

just for your information in my case govt hospital admin guy told me that they will send the report to CBI. but the same day when they were going to send it through post , CBI officer called me and told me that he want that report and he will be sending that report (not me or hospital).

Dont hesitate you can go to CBI office to enquire this.
I would suggest you to go to your local CBI office and ask them whetehr this is ok.

Police Verification is done by the same people who visit when you get your passports made. If your Police Verification has not been done yet, visit the local police station and ask them about the procedure, they'll direct you to the appropriate address. It should have been done for most people by now.

Lokesh: Are there going to be two separate rounds of Police Verification? One by CBI and another by the Local (State) Police?
