Q. What is EAMCET?

A: Jawaharlal Technological University, Hyderabad conducts an Entrance Examination for admission into the Degree Level Professional Courses in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Entrance Examination is called EAMCET. It stands for Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test. The test is conducted annually. Admission is done to the various Government / Private Colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates who fulfill all the eligibility requirements can appear for the examination.

  1. Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology Courses
  2. Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry / Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) / Bachelor of Science (Horticulture) / B. F. Sc. / B. Tech. (FS&T) / Bachelor of Science(CA&BM) courses
  3. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery / Bachelor of Dental Surgery / Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery / BHMS / BNYS Courses
  4. Bachelor of Pharmacy / Bachelor of Technology (Bio – Technology) and Pharma – D (Doctor of Pharmacy) courses.

Q. What is the exam pattern of EAMCET?

A: The exam pattern of EAMCET goes like this –

  1. Question paper consists of objective questions
  2. Total time allotted is three hours
  3. There will be all total 160 questions
  4. Candidates are required to achieve at least 25% percentage of marks i.e., 40 out of 160.

Q. What are the Eligibility Requirements of EAMCET?

A: The Eligibility Requirements of EAMCET are as follows –

Engineering

  1. Candidates must be an Indian citizen or Person of Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holder
  2. Candidates should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh

Engineering, B. Pharmacy (MPC), B. Tech. (Dairy), B. Tech. (Agriculture Engineering), B. Tech. (Food Science & Technology), B. Sc. (Commercial Agriculture and Business Management) courses

  1. Candidates should have cleared 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional.
  2. Candidates opting for engineering and pharmacy courses should have completed 16 years of age
  3. There is no upper age limit
  4. Candidates opting for B. Tech. (Dairy), B. Tech. (Agriculture Engineering) B. Tech. (Food Science & Technology), B. Sc. (Commercial Agriculture and Business Management) offered in Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University should have completed 17 years of age and the upper age limit is 22 years. SC / ST have upper age limit of 25 years
  5. Candidates going for Pharm – D courses should have cleared 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional. Candidates should have completed 17 years of age

Agriculture & Medicine

  1. Candidates must be an Indian citizen or Person of Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holder
  2. Candidates should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh

  1. Candidates going for the above courses should have cleared 10+2 or equivalent examination
  2. Candidates should have completed 17 years of age and the upper age limit is 22 years.
  3. The upper age limit is 25 years for SC / ST candidates
  4. Final year students are also eligible

  1. Candidates opting for the above courses should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional along with practical tests.
  2. Candidates should have completed 17 years of age.
  3. There is no upper age limit for students

B. Pharmacy

  1. Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional.
  2. Candidates should have completed 16 years of age.
  3. There is no upper age limit for students

B. Tech (Bio – Technology)

  1. Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional.
  2. Candidates should have completed 17 years of age

  5. Have full knowledge of exam pattern and syllabus
  6. Concentrate on weak areas. Try to overcome the weak points
  7. Candidates have to prepare well for Mathematics and Biology. As these subjects have more weightage
  8. Practice time management
