Why should one go to Chamba:-
Chamba is a scenic place. It is situted on the bank of river Ravi and is surrounded by three snowy ranges-Dhauladhar range, Shivalik range and Zanskar range. So It presents a charming and memorable sceneries before ones eyes.
Chamba is nestled on average height of about 1008 meters. So climate is very pleasant and delightful. Here maximum teperature goes up to 34-35 degree celsius in summer. In winter here temperature goes down to 0 to- 1 degree celsius.
Chamba is known for many old temples. So people having religious feeling must visit Chamba.
In holidays people reach here to enjoy and take rest also.
How to reach:-
The nearest airport is at Gaggal in Kangra valley. It is 180 kms away from Chamba.
The nearest railway station is at Pathankot. It is 120 kms far off from Chamba.
Daily bus service are available for Dalhousie. Jeep can also be taken on hire.

To live in chamba gives the feeling of village life. The best hotel of Chamba is HTPDC Iravadi hotel in Chaugan. Hotel Chamunda, Jimmy’s inn are the hotels located at the opposite side of bus stand Chamba.

Laxmi Narayana Temple:-

This temple is built up in Shikara style. This wasbuilt by Raja Sahil Verman. This is a very beautiful temple. In its complx there are
Radha Krishna temple, Gauri Shanker temple, Shiva temple of Chandragupta are situated. This is situated at the distance of 5 kms below Chamba.
Hari Rai Temple:-
This is a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Here is statue of Lord Vishnu.
Chaugan: –
This is a ground full of grass. This is situated in the heart of Chamba. Very famous Minjar procession is held here, which lasts for one week. This is a centre for all activities. It is local trading centre and be always busy, people of surrounding hills also come here for shopping.
Bhuri Singh museum: –
As its name, it was built by Bhuri Singh, the ruler of Chamba from 1904 to 1919. This was opened by him on 14 Sept. 1908. This is located in Chaugan area.
Champavati temple: –
This temple is situated in royal palace area.Some shikara temple is also situated near this temple. This is beleived that Chamba is named on this Goddess Champavati.
Kalatope khijjar Sanctuary: –
Here is road from Chamba to Dalhousie . This is a 30 km long ascending road on which one can trekk. This road goes to the wildlife Sanctuari.
Rang Mahal Palace: –
This is a beautiful palace made by Raja Umed Singh. This palace is a specimen of architecture. Walls are painted in wall paintings of panjab style, which enlighten the life of lord Krishna. It looks very beautiful and executive.
Killar: –
This is situated in deep narrow Gauge of Chenab river. One can reach killer through Sach pass.
RUMAAL OF CHAMBA: – This is a very famous object related ro Chamba. Actually this is a handkercheif, whose hindi name is rumaal. here long hanky with attractive embriodery are very famous
