Q. What is CAT?
Ans: Common Admission Test (CAT) is an all India common written examination for the admission in management which is conducted by Indian Institutes of Management (IIMS). IIMs are the best management institutes in the country. This written examination is conducted once in a year and more than 200,000 candidates try their luck to grab a seat in IIMs. The IIMs in India are:

For CAT 2012 Notification has been issued on 7th August 2011. The vouchers are available from 17th August 2011 to 28th September 2011. Registration for CAT 2011 is from 17th August 2011 to 28th September 2011. Last date for receipt of Application forms is on 28th September 2011.CAT is generally conducted in the month of November every year. This test will be conducted online during a 20 day testing window between 22nd October 2011 and 18th November 2011. CAT result will be declared on 11th January 2011.
Cut Off Marks in IIMs:
Competition is soaring in the academic section. A huge number of dream seekers are trying their luck for a seat in IIMs. But the journey is not so easy. The difficulty arises in the cut off section. Different institutes have their different cut – off marks. All the IIMs have raised their cut off marks. IIM Ranchi has the highest cut – off of 99.65 percentile among all the IIMs. IIM Calcutta has 99.59 percentile.
