A. National Certification Examination is directed by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) for a Certified Energy Manager and Certified Energy Auditor. National Certifying Agency conducts the National Certification Examination and establishes certain criteria’s for Energy Managers and Energy Auditors.

A. The Eligibility Criteria for

Energy Managers

1. Applicants should be a B.Engg or B.Tech or equivalent with three years of experience in maintenance, operation or planning that involves energy in it.

2. Applicants with M.Engg or M.Tech are also liable or equivalent with two years of experience in maintenance, operation or planning that involves energy in it.

3. Applicants with B.Engg along with Masters in management are also eligible and equivalent with two years of experience in maintenance, operation or planning that involves energy in it.

4. A Diploma Engineer is also applicable or equivalent with six years of experience in maintenance, operation or planning that involves energy in it.

5. Applicants with Masters Degree in Physics or Electronics or Chemistry along with three years of work experience in maintenance, operation or planning that involve energy in it are eligible

Energy Auditors

1. Applicants should be a B.Engg or B.Tech or equivalent with three years of experience in maintenance, operation or planning that involves energy in it.

2. Applicants with M.Engg or M.Tech are also liable or equivalent with two years of experience in maintenance, operation or planning that involves energy in it.

3. Applicants with B.Engg along with Masters in management are also eligible and equivalent with two years of experience in maintenance, operation or planning that involves energy in it.

Q. What is the Examination Pattern of National Certification Examination – Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE)?

A. The Examination Pattern of National Certification Examination – Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is described below –

1. Total number of papers is four –

Paper I – General Aspects of Energy Management and Energy Audit

Paper II – Energy Efficiency in Thermal Utilities

Paper III – Energy Efficiency in Electrical Utilities and

Paper IV – Energy Performance Assessment for Equipment and Utility Systems

2. Paper I, II and III is for Energy Managers applicants and must secure minimum of 50% marks in each paper.

3. Applicants for Energy Audit have to appear for all the four papers and must secure minimum of 50% marks in each paper.

4. The Medium of Instruction for all the papers will be in English.

5. Paper I, II and III will comprise of both objective and subjective questions.

6. Paper IV will be an open book examination

7. Time Limit for papers I, II and III is three hours each and for paper IV time duration is two hours.

8. Maximum marks allotted to papers I, II and III are 150 marks each and for paper IV maximum marks is 100.
